The first scholarship holder of the Knyphausen Foundation Grace Seidisa has been in permanent employment as a safari guide at Chobe Game Lodge (https://www.chobegamelodge.com/) since August.
Chobe Game Lodge is the first and only lodge in Botswana that was built within the Chobe National Park directly on the banks of the Chobe River.
In 2012, the lodge received the country's highest eco-tourism award from the Botswana Tourimus Organisation in recognition of the lodge's ongoing commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Chobe Game Lodge employs almost exclusively local safari guides. For young guides, the lodge offers a Youth Trainee Development Project. The lodge is also exemplary when it comes to gender equality. Since 2005, Chobe Game Lodge has been training women to become safari guides, and at present many professionally trained female safari guides work for the lodge.
Congratulations, dear Grace! We are very proud of you!
