Together with our partner organization StartUp4Kids Botswana, the Knyphausen Foundation has been organizing various events and workshops since 2021.
Now Theda Gräfin Knyphausen and cooperation partner Katja Visser have gone one step further in the direction of joint project work and founded the local association Re Jala Peo in Maun. The name means “planting a seed” in Setswana and stands for a future worth living for the next generation. With her foundation work, Katja is committed to teaching children and young people how to deal confidently with themselves, their social environment and the topic of money. These points are summarized in the Aflatoun program, which our Junior Ranger trainers also learn in order to pass on this knowledge to the Junior Rangers in the extracurricular educational units.
We are convinced of this addition, because we believe that it is self-confident, strong young people who are committed to environmental protection and a sustainable, fairer world. In the future, Katja and Theda would like to work even more closely with the teachers at the schools participating in the Junior Ranger program in Maun to get the school system moving. We will keep you up to date on developments at Re Jala Peo.
We promise it will be exciting!
