My name is Khumo Samati. I am a Senior Trainer, Content Creator and Administrator, committed to education, youth development, environmental conservation, and creating meaningful learning experiences for children and young people. My work allows me to combine training, creativity, content development, and administration to support programmes that encourage learning and positive change.

What I love most about my work is seeing learners grow from being quiet or unsure of themselves to becoming confident, curious, and willing to participate. I enjoy creating practical and interactive learning experiences that allow children to ask questions, share ideas, work together, and connect what they learn to their everyday lives.

I also enjoy developing educational content, workbooks, worksheets, activities, facilitator guides, and other resources that make learning simple, creative, and enjoyable.

Environmental education is an important part of my work, and I enjoy helping children explore wildlife, conservation, biodiversity, water, pollution, waste management, and responsible environmental practices. I believe that when children are given the right knowledge and opportunities, they can become active contributors to positive change in their communities.

My Success Story

One of my success stories has been seeing the transformation of learners through the programmes and activities I facilitate. I have seen children become more confident in expressing themselves, working with others, taking responsibility, and thinking creatively about challenges around them. Seeing learners develop a stronger appreciation for nature and begin identifying practical ways to protect their environment has been particularly rewarding.

I am also proud of contributing to the development of educational content, workbooks, learning activities, and practical training resources, and seeing these materials used to support meaningful learning. These experiences have strengthened my confidence as a trainer and have shown me the impact that well-designed learning experiences can have on young people.

My career goal is to continue growing in training, education, content development, and youth development, while creating innovative programmes and resources that positively influence more children and young people. I want to continue learning, improving my skills, and contributing to a generation that is confident, creative, responsible, environmentally conscious, and ready to become positive leaders in their communities and protect Botswana’s natural heritage.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

One of the most rewarding parts of being a facilitator is seeing learners take what they learn in our sessions and apply it in their everyday lives.
